Minnesota School of Business, founded in 1877 by Professor Alexander R. Archibald (previously of Dartmouth College), has a long history of providing training that meets employers' needs. In the 19th century, Minnesota School of Business offered business courses at a single location in downtown Minneapolis. Today the institution offers programs in business, health science, technology, legal science and creative production at eight Minnesota campuses and through an online platform.
Minnesota School of Business provides education and training leading to diplomas, associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates and master's degrees. The institution's mission is to provide knowledge and skills that meet business, industry and government needs, enabling graduates to reach their career and life goals.
At Minnesota School of Business, the focus is entirely on the students, who have flexibility they need to fit higher education into their busy lifestyles. Classes are held in the day and evening hours, at multiple campuses and through an online platform. Extensive academic support makes it possible for students to achieve their highest potential, and personalized career services result in high placement rates.
To ensure training in a field aligns closely with employer needs, the school assembles employers in that field to form a program advisory board. The board provides current, detailed information on employer expectations, changing job requirements and short and long-term employment outlooks. Minnesota School of Business responds swiftly to advisory board recommendations for program changes.
